What’s In Season: March

By Bonnie Rodenberger

March 1, 2025

Spring is just around the corner and we have some new fruits and vegetables that just can’t wait! As soil temperatures begin to warm up, there are a wider variety of seeds that can safely sprout without the risk of dying to frost. Locally grown strawberries are available as early as the end of March, assuming weather cooperates, and continue producing throughout the summer months. Blueberries are also joining the party to kickstart berry season, we are ecstatic to have them in the box starting this week!

Some more additions to look forward to in the coming boxes are avocados grown on our very own orchard. We are excited to have locally grown avocados back on the menu in the near future! Artichokes are another spring delight to accompany your weekly entrees. Celery and carrots will continue to be featured for your soup and veggie platter needs. Finally, beets, radishes, lettuce and citrus make wonderful accompaniments to any salad. Try roasting beets as you would a baked potato, or if you’re feeling extra ambitious, pickle them! Cheers to spring!
