Hello Talley Farms community! This is Matt here, owner of Bread Bike Bakery. I’m the lucky one that gets to tell y’all who we are and what we do over here in sunny San Luis Obispo.
What started as a dream to make the best sourdough bread possible has grown into a thriving community supported bakery where we employ over 15 team members and work with California growers for our produce, grain, and ingredients. From the beginning, our focus has been freshly milled whole grain flour. We have an amazing stone mill that was handcrafted in Vermont by New American Stone Mills, that we use every day to mill California-grown grain. We work with 3 different farmers to provide us with 5 varieties of grain. All the products we make use this freshly milled whole grain flour. It’s more nutritious and flavorful when used fresh – much like coffee beans! We have our brick-and-mortar bakeshop at 2060 Parker St in San Luis Obispo. We also attend 5 different farmer’s markets each week, and provide many different health food stores, cafes, and restaurants with our freshly baked products.
All our flour is organic, as well as, many of our other ingredients. All our bread is long-fermented sourdough, and our pastries are well-balanced and flavor forward. Through our work, we strive to cultivate a community that cares about each other, our farmers, and our planet. Bread and baked goods are our tools for a meaningful community.
