The holiday season is just around the corner, and we’ve got some simple yet elegant tips to help you set the perfect table! Designing a beautiful centerpiece can feel intimidating—and often expensive—but it doesn’t have to be. Using fresh produce you already have on hand is an easy, affordable way to elevate your tablescape, and the best part is, you can eat it afterwards!
This time of year, the produce naturally reflects the changing seasons. Think vibrant persimmons, colorful apples, and hearty squash. The hardest (and most fun) part is choosing which ones to use! You can mix and match fruits and vegetables down the center of your table for a casual, organic look, or group them in a bowl for a stunning focal point. Some items—like pomegranates or artichokes—add even more visual interest when sliced open to reveal their unique textures inside.
By mid-November, we also start receiving beautiful stem-and-leaf satsuma tangerines. Their glossy leaves add an extra touch of charm—just pile a handful on a tiered plate or scatter them along the table. Other citrus like lemons and oranges work beautifully too, especially when sliced to show off their bright interiors and add a pop of color.
And don’t forget about squash! Leftover pumpkins from Halloween or a few uncut butternut squash can fill in empty spaces and bring warmth to your table. Because of their size and shape, they don’t even need platters—simply nestle them among smaller fruits for a festive, natural display.
