Last week, I had the pleasure to sit down with Mary Catalano of Mary’s All Natural – the maker behind the delicious granola available as an add-on to your Talley Farms Box.
Mary has had a lifelong passion for food. She grew up in a big family – six siblings, to be exact – where food was always the common thread that brought everyone together. Her mom embraced a farm-to-table lifestyle long before it was trendy, driven by a deep commitment to health and a natural talent in the kitchen. That early influence inspired Mary to pursue a career in hospitality and the restaurant industry.
Mary began making granola while living in Orange County. At the time, her son owned a smoothie business and was looking for a high-quality granola to offer in his shop. That need sparked Mary’s journey into creating all-natural granola made with simple, uncomplicated ingredients. Her goal was to craft a product for people who embrace a healthy lifestyle and want a nutritious snack they can truly feel good about.
In 2023, Mary and her family moved to San Luis Obispo, where she continued growing her granola business. Small world, we were connected to Mary when her husband mentioned her passion project to the staff at Talley Vineyards while wine tasting!
Today, Mary’s granola can be found throughout the Central Coast, including the SLO Co-op, SLO Ranch, Miner’s SLO, the Thursday Farmers’ Market in San Luis Obispo, the Saturday Farmers’ Market in Paso Robles, and online. We’re excited to continue our relationship with Mary and offer her granola in our boxes, especially as the perfect pairing with the blueberries we’ll be featuring soon!
