Save Money, Save Time, Live Healthier

A famous author once said, “You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your habits.” We all make goals in the new year. We want to achieve more and be better individuals. It’s good habits that take us where we want to be.

How do we save money, save time, and improve our health?

#1 COOK AT HOME: I know, some of you don’t like to cook. Well, if you want to save money and be healthier, learn to cook. Following recipes is easy; start with simple ones. Investing in new kitchen tools may help you enjoy cooking. Do you have high-quality knives, pots and pans, cutting boards, and time-saving tools?

#2 PLAN YOUR MEALS: First, make a list of your favorite meals. Each week, plan to make at least 5 of these meals and keep all the ingredients on hand. Switch these recipes around to match your family’s schedules. In the morning, think about what to make for dinner. You may prepare, marinate, or defrost in advance.

#3 SHOP FOR FOOD ONCE A WEEK: The more often you shop, the more money you will spend. Create a list from your meal plan of the ingredients you need to purchase.

#4 EAT MORE PRODUCE: Get a Talley Box. You’ll eat in season, and you’ll eat the freshest, California-grown produce. Mix it up. If you eat the same fruits and vegetables every month, you won’t be eating a variety of vitamins and minerals. You’ll save time by picking up your box instead of shopping for produce at a store. Store your fresh Talley produce properly, and it will last for weeks (see our storage tips). Maybe you need a second, smaller refrigerator. Cut up your own vegetables: most food recalls involve pre-cut salads and vegetables.

Remember: It’s our habits that help us to achieve our goals of saving money and time, and living longer, healthier, and happier lives.
