Meet The Grower: Anthony Vineyards

Anthony Vineyards is a pioneer in California’s table grape industry. They grow grapes in two regions throughout the year, Coachella and Bakersfield, and produce a variety of red and green grape varieties. Similar to Talley Farms, Anthony Vineyards has deep roots in California agriculture, with multiple generations of the family still actively involved in the business today.

The foundation of Anthony Vineyards dates back to the 1920s, long before the company was officially established. Anthony Bianco was an 18-year-old Italian immigrant who sold fresh produce on the streets of New York City, eventually opening his own distribution company. Seeking to be closer to the fruit he marketed, he moved his wife and eight children to Fresno and founded Bianco Fruit Corporation. After Bianco’s passing in 1967, his four sons were inspired to continue his legacy and founded Anthony Vineyards with just 160 acres of grapes. Today, the company farms more than 6,500 acres of table grapes.

This year, their season is running about two weeks ahead of schedule due to the early heat waves experienced in March and April, marking their earliest start in 12 years. In addition to their extensive table grape operations, they also pack and ship dates and mangos from the desert region. We look forward to a successful grape and mango season with them and are excited to share their fruit with you throughout the summer.
